I think this is a great website also! I am seeking crew members that served with my Father; Robert L.Paveglio; who flew B-25's. He is pictured on 1st page, middle row, 2nd from right. and also as co-pilot in the cockpit with Col. Jack Cram. A photo I have pictures him also with H.N. Eastman(gunner), D.J. Mathirson {radio man) P.E. Jones (navigator) and Col. Jack Cram. Any information would be appreciated. Have A Beautiful Day!! L.Daley

My grandfather served with the VMB-612 during World War II. His name was Walter Kelley from Cincinnati, OH, he passed away in 2001, I would love to hear from anyone who could tell me more about his service.

My wife's maternal grandfather was Fred Pacitti. He was an arial gunner and photographer with 612 upto Siapan. He passes away last fall after a long battle with cancer. He never opened up much to his family about his service, but he and I had made a special connection since I had a huge interest in WWII aviation. I would also love to hear some more stories from any vets of 612 that would like to share. I do have one or two pictures of PBJ-1s that I got from the national archives.

I am very fortunate to get to fly Devil Dog PBJ-1J for the Commemorative Air Force. We help give history a future for VMB 612 as the "Devil Dog" was restored by a VMB 612 member Ozzie Parrish, who wanted to honor his friends from the #3 ship and honor the Marines. We would love for you to share your part of history so we can pass it on to Airshows across the US. Thanks for all that you did...for our freedom as we know it.

I really appreciate that this website exists. I volunteer with the Devil Dog Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF). Our group is dedicated to honoring veterans of the VMB-612 and preserving and promoting a piece of Marine aviation history that few seem to know. If you ever see the B-25 PBJ-1J "Devil Dog" at an airshow, please visit with us. If you would like to see images of this airplane or learn more about our activities, please let me know. Special thanks to everyone who has served our great nation.

My wife's grandfather, Charles D. ("Chuck") Hageman was a co-pilot with VMB-612. He enlisted in July of 1943 and was discharged in February of 1946. He died 28 January, 2006. I would love to hear from anyone who knew him or knew of his wartime experiences. Pictures would be fantastic! Also, I'd like to know what Marine Air Wing VMB-612 was attached to? Thank you for any and all help. Semper Fi, Mr. Ethan Lamb

I got to know Lloyd R Ernce when he joined VMF/VMFA-112 at NAS Dallas. At that time I was a staff sergent. He was a crusty CWO-4 that took me under his wing, taught me many things that I would have struggled to do, or have not gotten them done ASAP. He died DEc 27,2008 in Slidell, LA. Was not able to attend services, but thought a lot of this man. He was a MARINE's Marine. He will be missed by ALL that knew him. Found this site as part of GUNNER ERNCE's obit. Glad to see this site and learn about the many MARINES effort in WW-2 are not forgotten or lost to memory by a few, who are getting fewer and fewer. SEMPER FI

I am very happy to have found this website. Information about VMB-612 is hard to find. I am the grandson of Robert J Hassett, a pilot in VMB-612, and I would like all of you to know that he passed away on May 5, 2009 at the age of 93. He was a great man and I never missed an opportunity to ask him about his service during World War II. If any of you on this site served with him, I would like to hear from you (bmhassett@cox.net). Thanks and Thank You to all of you who served and have protected this great country of ours.
